We Shift Legal is a directory and guide publisher. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice and we never take a side in a case. Every lawyer listed here practices independently at their own firm.

Where our listings come from

Listings begin with the public roster of the North Carolina State Bar. We show each lawyer's verification status honestly: a listing may appear before anyone has independently checked a licence, and the page says so. Lawyers can claim their profile, correct it and add detail.

How results are ordered

Organic results are ordered by practice focus and service area, then by what the visitor asked for. Paid membership never changes that order, and sponsored listings always sit in a separate labelled block. Our ranking policy explains this in full.

Our guides

Guides answer the questions people actually ask, name their author and reviewer, link to official sources and carry a review date. Drafts stay unpublished until reviewed. Read our editorial standards and corrections policy.
